Why Being a Medicaid-Approved Doula Matters for You

As your doula, my priority is to make sure you feel supported, informed, and empowered throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. One of the ways I ensure my services are accessible and grounded in professional standards is by being a Colorado Medicaid-approved provider (which covers 100% of the cost).

If you’re considering using your Medicaid benefits for doula care—or just want to understand what that means—here’s why this matters for you and your family.

Doula Support Should Be Accessible to Everyone
Every birthing woman deserves compassionate, knowledgeable support—regardless of income or background. By being a Medicaid provider, I’m able to offer my services at little to no cost to those who qualify. This opens up access to care that many families might otherwise not be able to afford out-of-pocket.

You’re Working with a Verified, Professional Provider
Becoming a Colorado Medicaid-approved doula isn’t just a formality—it involves meeting specific qualifications, submitting documentation, and often completing state-recognized training. It means that my work is held to high standards, and that I’ve taken the steps to operate ethically, responsibly, and within the guidelines of the healthcare system.

You Can Use Your Benefits to Cover Doula Support
Colorado being one of the first states to include doula services through Medicaid is super exciting! Instead of paying out of pocket, your Medicaid coverage can be used to access emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I’ll guide you through the process if needed, and I’m here to make it simple and stress-free.

Integrated Care with Your Medical Team
As a Colorado Medicaid-recognized doula, I often work alongside hospitals, clinics, and birth centers that are also part of the Medicaid system. This can make communication and collaboration with your healthcare team smoother—ensuring you get comprehensive, respectful care.

A Commitment to Equity and Better Birth Outcomes
Research shows that doula support can lead to better birth outcomes, lower rates of interventions, and improved maternal satisfaction—especially in communities that have historically faced disparities in maternal healthcare. My work as a Medicaid provider is part of a larger movement to make birth safer and more empowering for every birthing woman.

Final Thoughts
Being a Medicaid provider means more than just accepting insurance—it’s about believing that every birthing woman deserves support, dignity, and a voice in her care. If you’re eligible for Medicaid and want a doula who understands how to work within that system while still providing personalized, heart-centered support, I’m here for you.

With care,
Your Doula
